Emotional Volatility Index (EVI) – A New KPI for Player Behavior Analytics in iGaming
Players exhibit varying behavioral reactions to wins and losses. With advancements in behavioral analytics and emotional state tracking, we can dive deeper into understanding and predicting shifts in their gaming patterns, enabling us to fine-tune the player experience.
What is EVI?
The Emotional Volatility Index (EVI) tracks the frequency of changes in gaming actions and emotional states, leveraging micro-behavioral data such as bet delay, average session duration, time between interactions with the interface, and variability in risk-taking decisions.
Example of EVI calculation formula:
EVI = (∑(Rate of change in gaming actions / Player’s reaction time)) / Number of gaming sessions
Why is this the future?
By analyzing data like decision-making time and the frequency of gaming action changes, operators can adjust the gameplay in real-time. For instance, if a player slows down in decision-making, indicating emotional overload, the system could offer a more relaxed gameplay experience by adjusting the pace or suggesting low-risk bonuses.
Practical Application
EVI allows for the personalization of the interface and offers for each player individually. This means the system can dynamically modify game complexity, gameplay speed, and target bonuses based on a player's emotional volatility. As a result, this boosts player retention, reduces emotional fatigue, and increases the LTV (Lifetime Value) of each user.
How do you think this approach could transform the iGaming industry?
