Retaining Top Talent in iGaming: How We Reduced Employee Turnover by 20%

In the fast-growing and highly competitive iGaming industry, retaining top talent is a critical factor for success. As a CEO, I faced the challenge of high employee turnover, particularly among valuable team members. Here’s how I implemented strategies to reduce turnover by 20% and create a supportive company culture.

1. Employee Retention Rate

How effectively a company retains its employees.

ERR = (Number of retained employees / Total number of employees) * 100

Example: If 10 out of 100 employees leave in a year, the ERR would be 90%. My goal was to achieve an ERR above 85%, and through a series of targeted actions, we increased our retention rate to 92% over two years.

2. Employee Satisfaction Score

Employee satisfaction is a key indicator that directly impacts their loyalty and willingness to stay with the company.

ESS = (Sum of satisfaction survey scores / Number of respondents)

We regularly conducted employee satisfaction surveys. Using the feedback, we implemented programs to improve working conditions, which helped increase satisfaction by 15%.

3.Employee Engagement Score

This metric measures how actively employees are involved in the company and feel valued.

EES = (Number of engaged employees / Total number of employees) * 100

We introduced feedback programs, regular meetings with leadership, and encouraged employee participation in decision-making. This boosted engagement from 65% to 80%, which directly impacted productivity and retention.

4. Time to Productivity

How long it takes for a new employee to reach full productivity.

TTP = (Total time to full productivity for all new hires / Number of new hires)

By optimizing the onboarding process and introducing training programs and mentorship, we reduced the time to full productivity from 6 months to 4.

5.Voluntary Turnover Rate

Voluntary turnover rate represents the percentage of employees who leave by their own choice.

VTR = (Number of employees who left voluntarily / Total number of employees) * 100

After implementing programs to boost engagement and satisfaction, we reduced voluntary turnover from 18% to 12%. This was achieved through regular employee check-ins, personalized career development plans, and improvements to working conditions.

How Did We Achieve This?

- Personalized career growth plans: We introduced individualized career paths for every employee, which helped boost satisfaction and engagement.

- Flexibility and work-life balance: Flexible schedules and employee support programs positively impacted motivation and retention.

- Investment in training and development: Ongoing training not only improves employee productivity but also strengthens their loyalty to the company.

Retaining top talent is not just an HR task—it's a core strategic goal for any successful iGaming project.
